Originally built as the Tenleytown Police Station. When Police Dept. moved in 1926, the library, organized in September 1926 and briefly housed in the new Janney Elementary School, moved into the building at 4539 Wisconsin Avenue. The library remained at this site until 1960. (Helm, p. 185-186)
